This year for the EU Code Week on the 16th of October we are organizing a robotics competition for students from the ages of 6-16, our mission is to encourage young people to learn the fun of science and technology while gaining technical skills and team skills and our main targets are especially children from disadvantaged backgrounds from Belgium and we will be holding the competition in collaboration with SchoolNet and Code&Play.
The main objectives for organizing this robotic competition is:
-Introducing, involving and getting more children interested in the STEM field especially coding and robotics.
-Help to become more familiar with engineering and help them to be fully informed when choosing a university specialization.
Introducing kids to robotics and engaging them in solving a practical problem using the friendly
During the competition the participants start by building beginner entry-level robot called mBot created by Make block then they get a chance to modify the robots to their liking and then code it using Scratch, then they collaborate with alliance teammates to complete specific tasks given. Volunteers will be on sight to help the children build the robots.
