In modern education, writing skills are both highly sought-after and often poorly developed in students. It can be a long, tedious, and old-fashioned process. On the other hand, many people – both young and old – have the need to tell good stories. They want modern, creative ways to express themselves in words.
Writing with ChatGPT offers the tools to refine the process of text creation. Structuring a text, doing research, or observing different writing styles – all can be made more relevant for teenagers nowadays with the help of an AI language model. In addition, copyright and academic integrity will also be discussed, in order to raise consciousness about the importance of original work.
ChatGPT is a chatbot designed to help users with acquiring information of desired length, format, style, level of detail, and type of language. The workshop will teach basic skills in using it when creating original written texts – primarily narrative ones. It will cover topics such as the story framework, worldbuilding, and character creation, as well as how to use it as an aid with writing blocks or writing for specific purposes.
