Description
Writing code can be the most creative and empowering thing that a student can learn at school: it's really exciting when students realise that they can turn their ideas into creations, especially when their code involves music and sound.
We plan to run a series of workshops where students write python code to create their own musical instruments using BBC micro:bits then test and perform a creative ensemble using their own musical gadgets.
We will recruit students prioritising Pupil Premium students with no access to their own IT devices to attend after school STEM club sessions.
Session 1: design ideas and inspiration
Session 2: code and test (the basics)
Session 3: code and improve (with sensors)
Session 4: review, refine and perform!
