Beebot Lessons

Scotts Primary School

Description Due to a lack of working equipment, our younger students (4-8 year olds) are currently unable to explore physical computing and early computational thinking skills.
If successful in this grant application, the money would be used to purchase a set of 6 Beebot robots which could then be used to teach lessons on coding and implementing algorithms for our younger students.
The lessons would support the following Computing Curriculum aims:
Pupils should be taught to:
 understand what algorithms are; how they are implemented as programs on digital
devices; and that programs execute by following precise and unambiguous instructions
 create and debug simple programs
 use logical reasoning to predict the behaviour of simple programs

The lessons would be for 4-8 year olds and would be carried out from September 2025 onwards. The Beebot robots would also foster learning through play for our youngest pupils, as well as pupils with SEND and those
