Description
The Loti Bot club will teach foundational computational thinking, programming, and engineering principles. Students will learn to program the robots using a block-based coding interface, which visually represents code and makes it accessible for young learners. They will progress to more complex challenges, incorporating sensors and outputs to solve real-world problems. The curriculum will be delivered through a series of weekly, project-based activities, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and creative design. We will use the Loti Bots, their accompanying software, and a range of challenges to introduce concepts such as loops, conditionals, and variables.
A Powerful Case for Loti Bots: Engaging KS2 Pupils in STEM
We are seeking to purchase Loti Bots to launch a new, impactful robotics club, with a vision to extend its reach to all Key Stage 2 pupils. A grant will cover part of the cost, and we will fund the remainder. This initiative will provide a powerful, hands-on learning experience that goes beyond the traditional curriculum, preparing our students for the future.

Our primary goals are to: Foster an early interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. Develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Promote collaboration and teamwork. Build resilience and confidence in approaching complex challenges. Bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The initial target group is a weekly club for Key Stage 2 pupils (year 5). Our long-term goal is to integrate the Loti Bots into the broader KS2 curriculum, impacting all pupils in this age group.
The Unique robots have bluetooth capability so pupils can code using a device and can also draw shapes (maths links) - super exciting!
