Description
We would like to use the funding to pay for an Intermediate STEMbotics workshop for the children. This will be a block-based robotics and coding workshop using LEGO Spike Prime and EV3 robotics kits. The workshop will develop computational thinking, engineering design skills, and collaborative problem-solving.
During this workshop students will build, from instructions, a range of different designs, or get creative and design and build their own robots. Once built, the children will programme their creations; which can be made to move and modify their behaviour using distance, tilt or colour sensors. This will delivered using Lego Education and Ipads.
Workshop Goals:
To bring STEM concepts into real-life situations
To promote the use of robotics and coding
Build and program robots with sensors and actuators using LEGO Spike Prime or EV3
Write block-based programs with variables, loops, and conditional logic
Apply the engineering design process to solve real-world challenges
Use sensor data to control robot behaviour
Analyse and debug complex block-based programs
Work as a team to solve open-ended engineering challenges
To develop critical thinking, creativity and teamwork skills
To encourage the participation of students in Technology, Engineering and Maths
This workshop will be targeting pupils in Year 5. We will deliver the workshop to the whole class ensuring that all pupils have access to this exciting opportunity, including those from disadvantaged economic backgrounds and ethnic minorities.
