Woodland Coding, Fourth Year Day1: On Site

Autism Support Kilkeel

Description Following on from the Woodland coding events of previous years, this builds on that with a specific robotics and drone focus and a school link: meaning two events, of which this is the first.

Titled "Robot and Drone Safari", this will provide autistic children who are members of the ASK charity (Autism Support Kilkeel) with the opportunity to code and control robots in the woodland as per www.flickernet.net/ask3 but this time they will also be provided with the opportunity to fly a drone over the treetops of Mourne Park - up to the high slopes of the Knockchree mountain then back along the river to where the robot testing track is.

Here is sample drone footage of the site: https://youtu.be/yG0iM-gwjRc

We will work with Matthew Wilson of ApertureNI (www.apertureni.co.uk) to provide this extra experience.

On the second day ASK children will have a further opportunity to code and control robots, this time at the nearby St Louis grammar school, Kilkeel.
