AI and Robotics

Fulford School Fund

Description We plan to run a series of workshops for students with autism and ADHD using LEGO®'s new Computer Science & AI resources to teach resilience, creativity, problem solving and teamwork whilst also enjoying an accessible introduction to AI and robotics.

Session 1: Creative Robotics
Students explore the hardware and coding tools, setting creative goals and working together with resilience and teamwork to achieve simple robotics tasks

Session 2: Loops
Students learn how to code repeated sequences of instructions and discuss efficiency, effort and efficacy with their code solutions.

Session 3: Conditionals
Students learn how to code conditional logic and discuss cause and effect in terms of both robotics and their own regulation and behaviour

Session 4: Variables
Students learn how to use variables to store data that may change while their code run and their robot interacts with the world. They discuss how to act and react when dealing with change for themselves too.
