Computer Explorers Workshop

Woodlands Meed School

Beschreibung We are a special needs school and college with pupils with a wide range of physical, social and emotional needs. We are keen to offer our special needs pupils access to a wide range of IT and coding opportunities to inspire their aspirations for their future and engage their ability to learn.

A Computing day of workshops to engage the students with the subject, with lots of practical activities and the chance to program and use robots.

I would love to use this to engage students (and staff!) with the subject so we would try to fit in as many classes as possible on the day.

Using Brick Bus to deliver coding workshops to engage students with coding in a fun and practical way. We currently use LegoWedo to practise coding skills and build models which the students can code to move (eg. a lego racing car). The Brick Bus would have different activities to engage students of varying levels and the bus element would pique their interest! They would learn creativity, problem solving and teamwork skills - important skills for our students and necessary as a way to understand building blocks of code.
