The Ambitious For All Foundation

Beschreibung The Ambitious For All Foundation Charity raises funds to provide opportunities to raise aspirations and support students to succeed in a digital world, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds who may not have access to digital technology at home.

We are planning a Science and Technology Day for all Year 8 pupils, on site at Applemore College which is an eleven to sixteen mixed secondary school from 8.45am until 3.00pm. This particular year group has a significant number (25%) of disadvantaged students.

The day will consist of four groups of 20 - 25 students rotating through three workshops throughout the day: Lego Robotics, flying Drones and coding a Mission to Mars.

The goals of the event are:
- To inspire students to value STEM subjects as potential career pathways
- To motivate students, particularly girls, to engage and develop digital skills
- To enable students who do not have access to a computer at home, to enjoy coding and digital technology
- Ultimately, to improve the life skills of these Year 8 students to increase their chances of an equitable future in a digital age
