Beschreibung
Swansea MAD is a youth and community charity. Our event will inspire and introduce children and young people in a rural/isolated community in Swansea to coding and technology, which they otherwise cannot access due to a lack of local opportunities.
The event will provide an opportunity for children and young people (aged 11-16) to be creative and inventive, igniting their passion for technology and coding through using Makey Makey to create interactive inventions using recycled materials (eg. bottle caps and egg cartons) which would otherwise be wasted.
The workshop will include activities and accessible learning resources.
Our event will support children and young people to develop coding and digital skills, while also building their confidence and motivation to engage with technology and explore sustainability and environmental issues.
The target group will be children and young people in a rural community who experience issues including digital and transport poverty and social isolation. Our youth work approach and values will create a safe and inclusive space in which children and young people can learn and thrive.
Please note this is a different cohort of young people who will participate in approved Meet and Code workshops at Swansea MAD at 216 High Street.
