Landing on the Moon

FRIENDS OF INDIAN QUEENS SCHOOL

Beschreibung Primary aged children will enhance their curriculum, writing code that would use the power of V2 Microbits to measure environmental data on a mission into space to land on the moon. Living on a peninsula with limited connections and high deprivation, disadvantaged children will learn more about Cornwall Spaceport and digital careers of the future. Both girls and boys will use both block coding and basic python to code programs that use the sensors of V2 Microbits to record environmental data. This will not only link to environmental careers but the bigger picture of digital careers and science. Video editing and green screen technology will allow pupils to put themselves and see themselves in both space and future careers. This visual representation will allow them to see themselves as scientists and astronauts. In order to support SEND pupils, a selection of beebots would teach and engage with robotics that could control 'moon landers'.
