Udruženje mladih žena 'GirlTHing'

Beschreibung Meet and code event called "Let's start from Arduino!" is designed to offer virtual experience that will attract young girls to technology. Most of the girls in high school are being thought technology classes that are unstimulating and boring. It is important to help young girls to learn technology, allow them to express their creativity, and give them more confidence in their technical abilities. We aim to have an effect on the girls between 14 and 19 years old, as they are entering adolescence and starting to form career interest.

This event will be an online event shared on Zoom platform, where girls from Bosnia and Herzegovina can apply. The session will last 3 hours and trainers in three groups will teach young girls how to program Arduino board online using free Web application Tinkercad to create cool electronics project. Top three active girls will receive a real Arduino set as an award, in order to motivate the girls to highly engage in this event. In this way, the girls who receive the real set can test the projects hands-on and get inspiration to do similar STEM projects.
