The Codeathon teaches content related to technology and computational thinking, including coding, creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy. Specifically, it covers microbit robotics, binary logic, circuit building, and debugging. Participants also learn teamwork and resilience.
The content is conveyed through hands-on activities using specific resources. These include microbits for robotics and sensors, and Chromebooks for Scratch to create animated stories and games. The event structure itself is a key method, fostering a collaborative and immersive environment.
The main goals of the event are to ignite a passion for technology, demystify coding, and demonstrate its role in creativity. It aims to foster a love for creative digital expression and prepare students for a digital world by developing essential future skills. The target group for this event is primary school students from the nine schools within your Trust specifically focusing on PPG and girls.
